Space Magna

2025 · 63cm x 87cm

Recycled magnetic tiles, on a LED panel, acrylic paint, 87cm x 63cm framed

Space Magna is playful exploration of the duality between digital and physical play. I reimagined the iconic video game from my childhood with my 2nd childhood (as a mother) iconic toys my son played with: magnetic construction tiles. It bridges two childhood eras: The 80s kids born with hands on craft and imagination, but for whom video games were a revolution and a way to connect with their families through breakthrough innovation. Today's kids, born into an always-online world but encouraged to engage in hands-on, imaginative play to maintain connection with the real world and people.
