Summer 95

2026 · 40.5cm x 40.5cm

Vintage Kinder surprise toy figures Funny Fanten from 1995, recycled ball-pit balls and acrylic paint

This is not your typical beach landscape. Summer ’95 sits somewhere between a painting, a sculpture and a toy. A geometric seaside scene comes to life with preloved Kinder Surprise toys from 1995, the Funny Fanten at the Beach, each little character caught in its own summer moment. The bold blocks of colour and graphic beach umbrellas create an almost abstract landscape, while the tiny three-dimensional figures bring humour, nostalgia and a sense of play to the scene. Part artwork, part childhood memory, it’s my version of a summer landscape: less picturesque, more play.
