Sourire d'enfant

2026 · 52cm x 42cm including frame

Preloved Miffy bunny, foil balloon filled with recycled plastic, acrylic paint on canvas board, 50cm x 40cm

Pour les frenchies. Sourire d’Enfant means “childlike smile” in French, taken from the fuller phrase “Garder son sourire d’enfant”, or “Keep your childlike smile.” A preloved soft toy holds onto an oversized smiley foil balloon, set against layers of colourful, playful graffiti. The toy and balloon escape the boundaries of the canvas, bringing that childhood world into real life. At its heart, the piece is about holding onto our ability to smile, play and find joy as we grow older.
